The SEO equation
Search engine optimization is very simple. Ranking higher on Google is only: On site SEO + Off site SEO. Popularity Contest helps build your external links so is off-site SEO.
So what IS Popularity Contest?
“Popularity Contest” is our way of saying we’ll spread the word. We have services that update blogs once they’re added to the list. These tell all the search engines that you’ve updated long before they would have gotten back to crawl you. ”Pinging” your site, they basically say “oh yeah, we updated – come look.”
These pings are good for your SEO because they will happen every time you post a new blog. Forever – as long as the domains we use are in service. Buying Popularity Contest buys you syndication – your blog posts, your words, pushed further and to more sources than you’d even know exist.
We’re helping your small business SEO by making you a much bigger business. Instead of publishing a blog entry and having it disappear, we can ensure it goes out to Twitter, RSS syndication sites, ping services, blogrolls and other similar services. This all builds external links, which we’ve talked about many times this week. External links are good. Period.
How much is Popularity Contest?
Popularity Contest comes with a small $35 setup fee. This is so we can format your content once, syndicate it out to all our networks and add ping services where you are missing from them. We think this is a *very* generous price for a lifetime of SEO improvements with every blog post you ever write gaining some benefit from it. We never push Popularity Contest because we know that those who should have it know it and will ask for it.
Tomorrow we’ll finish this 8-part series that explains our services. We’ll talk about our Monthly Plans and why they may be the most important part of SEO.
