Google Images search – Tineye Killer?

Tineye Killer? Words I didn’t think I’d say.

I visit Google Images everyday of the week. I use it to find my images in use and create tear sheets. Today I logged in and saw a new message that I’m not sure was there before.

New! Now you can use an image to start your Google search.

Learn more, or try it now by dragging one of these images into the search box above.

I’m always curious so I clicked “Learn more.” It’s a Tineye-type Firefox or Chrome extension so I added it and rebooted Firefox. Right click an image and under TinEye is the new Google Images context menu.

Does it work?

Is water wet.

The rest of the day I spent finding images. This extension blows TinEye out of the water. I mean … an image Tineye would find 2 tear sheets on, this would find 15-50. FIFTY…

I downloaded about 100 tear sheets and finally decided to tell someone. So yeah – go get this. Now.
